In its purest form, it is yogurt-and-spice-marinated chicken dressed in a velvety red bath comprising butter, onions, ginger and tomatoes scented with garam masala, cumin and turmeric, with a cinnamon tang. Butter chicken originated in a Delhi restaurant when the chef was looking for a way to serve unsold tandoori chicken from the night before.

  2. Take 1/2 kg chicken
  3. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  4. Get 1 tsp red chilly powder
  5. Get 1 tsp ginger, green chilli and garlic paste
  6. Prepare 2 tbsp curd

  10. Take 1 chopped onion (for frying)
  11. Make ready 2 green chilly, ginger 1", 2 to 4 crushed garlic cloves

  14. Take 1 tbsp garam masala
  15. Prepare 2 tbsp butter
  16. Prepare 1 tbsp oil

The chicken is incredibly tender and injected with flavour from a yogurt marinade, and the Butter Chicken sauce is so ridiculously delicious, you'll want it on tap! Butter Chicken is an easy recipe that's full of savory flavor with warm spices. This mild curry has tender chunks of chicken simmered in a creamy spiced curry sauce. It's quick to make with chicken, tomato sauce, cream, and handful of pantry spices.

Instructions to make Butter  Chicken:

  1. Wash chicken properly twice with salt and turmeric powder. (drain the water) and keep aside.
  2. For marinate the chicken. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, grind paste, curd and oil. Keep aside 1/2 hrs.
  3. Heat 1 tsp oil and 2 tbsp butter in Kadai. Add cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, 2 cloves and 2 cardamom. Fry for a few minutes
  4. Then add chopped onion. Fry till it become light brown in colour. Then add cumin powder, turmeric powder and red chilly powder. Saute it. Add tomato and onion paste. Fry till the raw smell of masala goes off.
  5. Add marinate chicken. Fry till it becomes dry. Add little water and fry for few minutes
  6. Once it is done. Add water as needed. Cover and cook till the chicken tender. Once it is done. At last add garam masala. Switch of the flame. Cover it for few minutes. So that the garam masala will be there in chicken curry
  7. Once it is done. Transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Add little butter on the top of the chicken curry. Ready to serve with garlic nan………..
